The Benedict Canyon Neighborhood Coalition, The Building and Labor Trade Unions, LA Chamber of Commerce, and many informed Angelenos and business leaders welcome Bulgari Resort Los Angeles. Thank you, Bulgari, for choosing Los Angeles to be the twelfth Crown Jewel in the Bulgari collection. We are honored to have you!
THE DEVELOPER’S GUIDE TO IMPROVE THE CANYON
Harmony
The bungalows will sit lightly on the landscape, without interrupting its natural flow. Buildings and rooflines will blend seamlessly within nature and its privacy.
Conservation
We’re not only maintaining almost 75% of the resort as open space—we’re also adding more than 1,000 new native and/or drought-tolerant trees.
Sustainability
We are setting a new standard for Green Building with the latest materials and technologies, carbon sequestering, and energy-efficient systems.
Community
We are committed to being a good neighbor—which means adding a public dog park, as well as new firefighting infrastructure and stabilizing the hillside.

Blocking Overdevelopment
WE HAVE VERIFIED that the resort will commit this land to a low-density natural sanctuary, forever removing the threat of rampant, endless, high-density development on this land.
Wildlife Protection
WE HAVE VERIFIED that the resort will be an enclave where wildlife is embraced and a big part of Bulgari Resort Los Angeles’s interactive harmony with wildlife and nature.
Mitigating Fire Danger
WE HAVE VERIFIED that the resort will bring improved firefighting infrastructure, better brush management, and other fire safeguards to our hills.
Sustainable Planting
WE HAVE VERIFIED that all of the resort’s plantings will be native and/or drought-resistant species—a natural fit for these hills. Award-winning Enea Architecture from Switzerland shall transform our canyon into a beautiful and magical retreat.
Benefiting the surrounding community
WE HAVE VERIFIED that the resort will be constructed and operated sustainably, and it’ll also improve local infrastructure and fire safety, benefiting the surrounding community. We will hold the developer accountable! This retreat will:
- Be 75% open space
- Be much smaller than originally planned (41% smaller, with 43% fewer rooms than the Hotel Bel-Air)
- Will increase property values

“I’m tired of all these signs saying nobody in Benedict Canyon wants Bulgari Resort Los Angeles. Who are these people? I live in Benedict Canyon and I welcome Bulgari Resort Los Angeles. I don’t need anybody to speak for me. I can speak for myself, and I welcome Bulgari Resort Los Angeles. And I’m not the only one. I know many residents who also support it. People should go on the Bulgari Resort Los Angeles website and ask for a tour as I did and get the information for themselves, and decide for themselves.”
“I’ve lived in Benedict Canyon for more than 10 years and I love my community. When I first heard about Bulgari Resort Los Angeles project, I wasn’t sure what to think. Once I got in contact with Gary Safady, not only did we talk on the phone but he offered to give me a tour of the property and walk me through the new plans for Bulgari Resort Los Angeles. I accepted, we went through the new plans – which are much more modest than some people are saying – and I came away convinced of two things: Gary respects the Canyon as much as I do, and Bulgari Resort Los Angeles will be a positive addition to our community.”
“I lived in the canyon for over 24 years and toured Bulgari Resort Los Angeles. I whole heartedly support Bulgari Resort Los Angeles. For sure, a local dining/spa option will be great, but it’s also going to increase the value of my home. The homes right around the Bel-Air Hotel sell for more per square foot and I think homes in Benedict Canyon will see the same increase. Definitely will be a welcome addition!”
